Brittany's Hope Foundation :: 2008-2009 Annual Giving Campaign

Approximately 60-90 children are abandoned yearly near a river in Injibara, Ethiopia. These children become prey to hyenas, lions, and starvation. Brittany’s Hope has broken ground for an orphanage on a plot of land donated by the local Ethiopian government. The community will benefit from a water purification system, worship center, and medical clinic. Your donation to this project will be used to construct fencing, living quarters, sanitary facilities, classrooms, animal pens, a garden, and a kitchen.

Special Project 2:
House of Love

In 2005, Brittany’s Hope met a group of nuns in Vietnam who were struggling to raise and educate 44 children in a three-room house. Since then, even more children have been abandoned at the House of Love. We have provided the orphanage with food, a garden, routine immunizations, a kitchen and dining room, a water purification system, bathrooms and showers, beds, and fencing. Our goals for 2009 include housing, a medical clinic, a vocational training center, and classrooms.

Special Project 3:
Sunflower Children Project

When children in orphanages “age out” on their fourteenth birthday, they are often evicted with little more than a change of clothing. Our Sunflower Children Project provides aged-out orphans with supply-filled duffel bags to help them during their transition to the outside world. Items such as a warm blanket, shoes, toiletries, a first aid kit, and other provisions make a difference to children forced to leave the only home they have ever known.
Gift: $100 to fill a duffel bag.

Emily Cane Project

Over 500,000 vision-impaired people in Vietnam do not have canes or the opportunity to learn mobility skills. Brittany’s Hope offers free canes and mobility training to help blind and visionimpaired people learn how to adapt to life, increasing their independence and changing their lives in a profound way.
Gift: $50 to provide a cane and mobility training to a vision-impaired person.

Nutrition Program

Every five seconds, another child dies from hungerrelated causes. Our nutrition program provides orphanages with high-grade formula, dairy products, cereal, protein, vitamins and medicines. You can make a difference with even a small donation to supply a month’s worth of protein-rich food and medicine to a child in need.
Gift: $25 to feed a child for a month, $300 to feed a child for a year.

Brittany’s Cribs

Babies in impoverished orphanages spend their days in broken cribs with no mattresses or blankets. Resources are limited, so precious funds are spent on food and medicine, leaving no means to replace damaged beds. Infants languish for hours in cribs without the comfort of a blanket or toy while caregivers try to meet the needs of the babies. Your donation will provide a child with a safe, comfortable crib with a mattress, warm blanket, and a “busy box” for valuable mental stimulation. In return, you’ll gain the reward of knowing that you have made an enormous difference in the life of a child.
Gift: $150 per crib with mattress, blanket, and busy box.

Sponsorship Program

Our Sponsorship Program enables you to touch the lives of abandoned children in a meaningful way. As a personal sponsor, you can select a child who will benefit from knowing that someone in the world cares about them. Some of our sponsors correspond with their sponsored child, or send school supplies, snapshots, and toys. You will receive a welcome folder, photos, and updates from Brittany’s Hope Foundation about your child’s progress, and love and gratitude from your sponsored child.
Gift: Choose a child in either Vietnam or Ethiopia. $35 per month for one year to support your child, or $50 per month for one year to support and educate your child.
