Frannie
Frannie is approximately 12 years old. She is fully orphaned, both parents are deceased. It is unclear exactly what Frannie's circumstances were, whether she was sold or put to labor for a family debt, but she was forced to live with and work for another family as a nanny and maid, and suffered physical abuse in their home. Frannie ran away to live on the city streets, where police found her and brought her to a shelter. Frannie has experienced 10-20 second mild seizures. The cause has not been confirmed or diagnosed by a medical specialist. This little girl adapted quickly to her new surroundings and has made several new friends. She is smiling more everyday and is a blessing to those around her.

Terry
This 11 year old boy hopes for a place at a shelter, but more than that, he hopes for a forever family. His parents have relinquished him and right now this 11 year-old lives in an orphanage. A charismatic, confident and smart boy, has taught himself English. He wants to come to America and study science. When an AGCI team visited, he asked to go back to America with them, and when told they could not take him, his eyes filled with tears. Yet he remained determined to have a positive outlook, despite the challenges in his life. He told the team that he will be adopted and accomplish great things!

This boy who is 13 is a story of courage in the face of hard reality. His mother has died and his father is dying of AIDS. Knowing that he would not be there to raise his son, the father's greatest wish is for his son to have a family who will care for him. The boy's sister was adopted by a family in France, and it is unknown if he will see her again. This young boy shows so much intelligence and has a huge heart. He is steadfastly determined to become a doctor when he grows up. As he says, I want to help children who have lost their parents. He has completed school through the 8th grade (there are no schools in his region after that grade) and speaks some English. He is currently living with his father while he waits for God to bring him a family.
