Lindsay
This charming girl was found when she was five years old, and joined her foster family in July 2005. On admission she was found to be deaf in both ears. It's reported that her foster family is teaching her sign language. She is also reported to have some physical delays. She is described as an active and carefree girl. She's reported to be independent in her daily tasks, such as washing, brushing her teeth, dressing herself, and even washing her clothes. She is especially close with her Grandma who she helps to get food and water, get dressed, and they go on walks together. She does well in school, and enjoys getting praise from her teachers. This lovely and thoughtful girl is waiting for her forever family who has access to the resources that she needs.

Doug
This endearing little guy was found when he was about one month old. On admission he was found to have myelomeningocele and rachischisis for which he has not had any treatment. In a report from June 2007, he can crawl, walk, pick up small beans with his hands, and put blocks into a bottle and take them out. He is described as smart and cute. He is attached to his caretakers and enjoys being held by them. He is reported to say "baba" and "mama", and enjoys listening to music and playing with toys. A family who has access to the resources he needs would be best for this sweet boy. Prospective adoptive parents have the option of a free medical review of his material by a physician well versed in myelomeningocele.

Addison
Addison has so much potential! She is kind and intelligent but due to her profound deafness she will have little opportunities in her future without a family. She has been waiting on our list since September and has not had her file requested to be reviewed even one time! It is probably due to her age. Addison was born on October 1998 which makes her 10 years old this year. We believe Addison would do well being adopted by a family who has previously adopted older children and understands transition issues. Addison would be able to accomplish so much with an experienced family.

Cameron
I have found my forever family!
Cameron is a charming and healthy toddler born in November 2006. Cameron has a hearing loss that may or may not be repairable. He was born with microtia which has closed his ear canals. It is possible that with specialized surgery he may have the chance to hear! He will definitely require further surgery that can be expensive. The fact that Cameron has a challenging special need, and the fact that he is a boy unfortunately work against him. Having a grant for him will greatly assist a family with the financial obligations that parenting him will require. He is still young enough that having a family and access to early intervention preschool for the deaf would definitely make a huge difference in his future!

Houston
I have found my forever family!
Houston is a special boy who has stolen our hearts and he just turned 2 years old this month on February 2! Houston has a limb difference and congenital amputation of the right hand and forearm. In addition, Houston has a deformation of his big toe on the right foot; which may be indicative of another disorder. Houston was recently matched with a family, but at the last moment the family decided to adopt another child. Houston needs our help because with his physical special need and the fact that he is a little boy make it harder for him to be matched with a family. With your help we know we can find the perfect family for Houston.

Travis
This child grabs the hearts of all those who see his picture; but when they find out his medical need, they feel overwhelmed. Travis has Alpha Thalassemia. This means that he can't get the necessary iron in his blood. He requires blood transfusions 1-3 times a month to survive, but he is in a very poor rural orphanage in China which makes it extremely difficult for him to get the transfusions he needs. CHI has been able to sponsor his transfusions while he waits to find a family. His transfusions will need to continue until he can be adopted and under the care of a specialist. A family adopting Travis will need to be prepared for long term medical intervention. Travis surely deserves the chance to know the love and support of a family.

He was found at an office on June 15, 1998. He was placed in foster home on that same day after no one claimed him. Between July 19, 1999 and January 19, 2000 he was placed in the orphanage due to a change in orphanage management. He was later returned to the foster family where he still lives today. He was diagnosed with congenital cleft lip and palate. He had surgery to suture his cleft lip and palate and on July 25, 2005 he had an operation of palate fistula. Other than the repaired cleft his is physically and developmentally normal for his age. He is currently enrolled in the local school. The teachers and classmates like him very much. He covers his mouth when he speaks in class due to his abnormal mouth. He gets good grades and finishes his homework on time. He has made many good friends at school and reaches school early every day to help other classmates with the cleaning. He likes to listen to music, sing and dance. He is described as active, restless, and a little obstinate. He likes the dogs in his foster home. He is brave and did really well when he had his palate surgery. He helps his "grandma and grandpa" at home with simple housework and looking after the other kids. AGC-402
He was found abandoned at the gate of the orphanage on February 28, 2004. It was determined by his physical development that his birth date was September 1, 2001. When he entered the orphanage he was diagnosed with congenital left equinovarus. When he came into the orphanage the doctors determined that he had missed the best opportunity to repair the equinovarus and even if he underwent surgery he would not reach the most positive target. In order to give him the best opportunity doctors performed an operation on May 15, 2004 to lengthen his left Achilles tendon, fuse three of his joints and he had a round osseous point internal fixation surgery. The surgery went well and he went for rehabilitation and massage after to help him walk. He walks normally now and likes gymnastics. He is described as a shy and good boy who gets affection from everyone. He likes gymnastics, sports and playing games with his friends. He can take care of himself and he likes helping others. He can express his ideas and speaks in "plentiful sentences." He can read some simple words and do simple addition.
