Ian
Ian is a happy, active, and determined boy. He was born with arthrogryposis. He has had several surgeries on his lower limbs, enabling him to walk. He started walking in 2008 and walks unassisted, somewhat unsteadily. Ian uses crutches when he walks long distances. He is very independent and requires little assistance. Ian climbs up and down stairs and even rides a bike! His independent skills are great, even with the limited use of his arms.
Ian is a leader and organizer in the his group. He has a rich vocabulary, is very social, and has good cognitive development. Ian attends school and is easily distracted. He is behind academically because of his past surgeries. He shows wonderful persistence and determination in his every day life. He has physical limitations, but they don't stop him from daily activities. Ian would have so many opportunities and resources if a family was found for him!
