Eric & Haidee
Hello friends! We (Eric and Haidee Selle) are blessed with one daughter, Elena Jubilee. Elena was born four months premature and weighed just over one pound at birth. It is truly a miracle of God that today she is a happy, healthy, six-year-old girl! About two years ago we began the process of an international adoption. It’s been a long journey, but we finally have been matched with Maheshwari, a beautiful three-year-old girl from India! Now we are in the final stages: waiting for a court date with an adoption official in India, after which we will receive an invitation to travel to India to meet Maheshwari and bring her home to the United States to join our family.
Many friends and family have asked how they can support us in this adoption process. We decided not to accept donations directly, but instead we would like to invite you to make a contribution to Brittany’s Hope. Brittany’s Hope is a non-profit organization that provides grants to families pursuing international adoption. Our family has already been chosen to receive a Brittany’s Hope grant. We’re inviting our friends and family to make a donation in our name to Brittany’s Hope so that other families will also be able to receive a grant in the future. In this way, you, along with us, are “paying it forward” to assist the next generation of adoptive families and children.

What is a Brittany's Hope Adoption Grant?
Brittany’s Hope believes in the fundamental right of all children to have the security and love of a family. There are an estimated 153 million orphans living around the world (UNICEF – 02/2011). These staggering statistics are heartbreaking considering a large number of these children are special needs, who have little or no value in the eyes of their own country. They are left to languish in institutions, where they receive minimal care and live hopeless, helpless lives.
The cost of international adoption can be overwhelming and is only further compounded by the medical and accessibility costs a child with special needs presents. Our Adoption Grant Program provides grant monies while giving families the opportunity to assist Brittany’s Hope in raising funds so the next child may also be united with their forever family. The phrase “It takes a village to raise a child,” takes on new meaning as the “seeds” of the adoptive family’s friends, family and neighbors take root and help provide future families with adoption grants. With a gift to Brittany’s Hope, a donor’s monetary support of the Adoption Grant Program means double for the adoptive family.
