Service Learning Trip 2024

Nineteen Lebanon Valley College students, along with Brittany’s Hope advocates and staff, are embarking on a trip to Viet Nam to make transformational change in the lives of orphaned and at-risk children across Viet Nam. During this two-week trip, trained student will be providing direct therapy to children (under the supervision of LVC professors), training caregivers, delivering bicycles, building a home, delivering food, and giving children who have never been on a field trip the opportunity to play, laugh, see parts of their own country that they have never seen before.

We are asking YOU to be a part of their journey. Your donation will ensure that children will have bicycles to travel to school, at-risk families will have access to safe and stable housing, and children living in orphanage care will have access to the resources needed for them to thrive.     High risk families, particularly single mothers, often have to make the difficult decision to place their children in orphanages due to the lack of stable housing. Help a family stay together by building them a new home. Our team will help to build homes for four families in desperate need. For less than $7,000 each, together we can build homes which not only provide safety and security for a family, but also create an asset for generations to come.

    Give a child a once-in-a-lifetime experience, outside the confines of their care center. The team will take 2 groups--totaling over 165 children-- on a day trip to the beach, followed up with a celebratory party. The trips open their eyes to the beauty of their country, right outside their door.

    Just imagine walking 9 miles to and from school each day! Help them get to school faster, ready to tackle the day by providing them with the means of transportation to get there quickly. Help us reach our goal of providing 50 bicycles for 50 low income students. These bicycles will be delivered by the LVC students and Brittany’s Hope staff.

    Make learning effective and fun by furnishing classrooms inside and out. 110 children need desks and chairs to keep them focused and organized. Recess is a vital part of learning. The students needs sports and playground equipment to exercise their bodies as well as their minds.

    Provide vital food relief to over 200 families who are grappling with food insecurity. Support for this initiative holds the power to make a significant impact, ensuring that no individual within our community faces the challenge of going to bed hungry.

    Our Children’s Homes are home to between 50-125 children. Just imagine the resources needed to keep them running smoothly and comfortably. Your gift will help to provide necessary items such as Dryers, Freezers, Water Dispensers, Fans, Wooden Dressers, and mattresses and will help the Staff help to make the children feel right at home.

    Many rural communities lack access to medical care. Help us equip a community-based clinic with necessary medical supplies and adaptive equipment to improve the health and well-being of at-risk children and their community.
