The Gift of Family: Uyen's Homecoming

Perrenial Path, Holiday 2019

Uplifting stories of adoption give us a peek into a child’s story. It is rare to be so intimately involved in knowing not only a child’s past and present, but also their future. Uyen’s story is unique. In 2018, with assistance from a Brittany’s Hope Adoption Grant, Uyen was adopted.

A Shift In Strategy

Perrenial Path, Spring 2019

As the landscape of orphan care evolves, so has the mission of Brittany’s Hope. We’ve been listening to the communities we serve and relying on our local partners in Viet Nam, Ethiopia, and Kenya, making sure to follow best practices. Our resources are being invested into developing effective community-based programs to ensure we preserve the fabric of a family unit, particularly for orphaned and at-risk children. A shift in strategy led us to consider options which prevent and address the complex structural and underlying causes of placing children in orphanage care.
