About The Perez Family

Luis & Maria

Our little family started in 2017 when Luis and Maria got married. Luis is Peruvian and Maria is Colombian, but met in Allentown, PA, as Luis and Maria went together to Maria’s high school prom back in 2007. Luis and I have been blessed with many opportunities to travel around the world to places like China. In 2020, we found out we were expecting our baby who was born in October 2020.

Shiloh’s life has not been easy at all. She lost her father and her two sisters in a car accident in 2009. Shiloh and her mother were also in the accident but survived. Shiloh is very mature for her age, is intelligent, and is family oriented. When her father and sisters died, her maternal grandmother and maternal aunts and uncles became her nuclear family. Unfortunately, her mother developed a degenerative illness call rheumatoid arthritis. Her mother was a warrior who fought against her illness for about five years, but she lost her fight in September 2022.

Our family is eager to have Shiloh join us. She completes us and we want her to feel the same way. It is an honor for us to be present in her daily life at school, sports, arts, anything that she would want to do, we will support and be present for her. It is our responsibility to continue her mother’s legacy and ensure she feels secure, cared, and loved from a father, mother, and sibling perspective.

What is a Brittany's Hope Adoption Grant?

Brittany’s Hope believes in the fundamental right of all children to have the security and love of a family. There are an estimated 153 million orphans living around the world (UNICEF – 02/2011). These staggering statistics are heartbreaking considering a large number of these children are special needs, who have little or no value in the eyes of their own country. They are left to languish in institutions, where they receive minimal care and live hopeless, helpless lives.

The cost of international adoption can be overwhelming and is only further compounded by the medical and accessibility costs a child with special needs presents. Our Adoption Grant Program provides grant monies while giving families the opportunity to assist Brittany’s Hope in raising funds so the next child may also be united with their forever family. The phrase “It takes a village to raise a child,” takes on new meaning as the “seeds” of the adoptive family’s friends, family and neighbors take root and help provide future families with adoption grants. With a gift to Brittany’s Hope, a donor’s monetary support of the Adoption Grant Program means double for the adoptive family.
